Special Effects Make-up using Polymer Clay as scarwax alternative

Hey It's me beyahfrancine with a DIY special effects make-up video tutorial using Polymer clay.

You thought make- up is expensive? Well, special effects make-up is waaaay more pricey.

And well, the cheap ass me decided to play around with polymer clay, and tadaaah! I slit my wrist.

I know it's too early for halloween, but at least you have 2 months to perfect this!

I am in no way a professional  SFX make-up artist. It's kind of a hobby of mine to sculpt and I got into SFX make-up when I had to do a short film involving gun shot wounds. So, here I am.

anyways, enjoy the video and don't forget to comment like and subscribe.

Jealousy Incarnate KDrama Episode 1 Recap

I have had my fill of kdramas in the past 10 years of watching hundreds of titles, from the classics,  Autumn in my heart, Endless Love, Full House, My Sassy Girl Choon Hyang, My Girl, Goong and to the modern big hits such as My Love From The Star, Descendants of the Sun, and many more.

And to start off my birthday month with a bang, and keeping Greenday off from sleeping this september, I will be recapping the pilot episode of the new SBS Kdrama starring Jo Jung Suk (Oh My Ghost) and Gong Hyo jin (Master's Sun)

As I kept on obsessing over Jo Jung suk's superb and believable acting after Oh My Ghostess from TVN, I wouldn't miss a chance to pine over him this time in Jealousy Incarnate,, because why not? Add Gong Hyo Jin in the mix and we'll serve the bibimbap right up! Yum.

I will be writing as I watch so I could literally spazz out and damage my keyboard as the lovely cutesy and JEALOUSY parts ensues. Am I ready? um, yes? Are you?

On with the recap!

The episode starts of with a Starwars theme rolling title against a background of the earth

and little cartoon characters in a UFO controlling the weather. I had to do a double take to check if I'm watching the same drama here or watching a korean animated cartoon, (hi Larva) anyways, these little buggers kept on changing the weather and changing it until they get knocked out by an asteroid that set them hurtling through the earth's atmosphere into a chimney and knocking an analog television on to a weather forecast.

We then see our heroine Pyo Na ri (Gong Hyo Jin) in a SBC (ha! I see what you did there SBS) weather forecast, expertly relaying the weather before a green screen, and keeping cool

while the PD Choi Dong-ki nags her to stick out her chest towards Seoul and butt more to the east sea while keeping a straight face under 60 seconds. seriously?

Her stint done, she watches the news anchors end their spiel, accurately murmuring the same lines. The broadcast ends and we see a long continuous shot where Na-ri helps every single one of the staff, even bringing the shoes of the main announcer. Hey show, why you do dat to the MC/main character? We see that being a weather reporter doesn't really put you into the "I'm kinda important, people see me on  the television" kinda list. Even with full hands, she volunteers to buy coffee, by handling the card on her mouth

We see a professional looking opening card --the ones you see before a travel show where you see the host travelling to many places-- and in this case, Bangkok,

we have our hero, Lee Hwa Shin (Jo Jung Suk ) seemingly in the middle of a tv correspondent stint, and asking out loud if he seemed rude at the end.

Only to see that he's talking to himself, donning a one man show using a selfie stick and shouting his heart out for his entry to the 2016 SBC Open casting (OMG this guy) he ends his spiel, content with the setting and back ground.

He heads down to the bar, and arrogantly picks a fight with a random guy with his girlfriend. ( And yes, he picks a fight and disses them in fluent Thai) He first compliments the guy's shirt and the girl, and asks if he can have them. "Pretty girls like her are common.. but that shirt was last year's limited edition"  He gets slapped by the girl and he still insists to pay for the shirt (whew, just for a shirt) He calls the shirt a waste on the guy, pointing out his lack of pecks that create the "M" (whatever that shit is) He adds,  "Guy's dress shirts are all about the chest" basically don't wear a dress shirt in white if you haven't got the pecks to show off. according to him. He gets socked in the mouth and the couple leaves, and he nurses his drink, spiffed until a random foreign guy compliments his shirt.

Back in Korea we see Na-ri back in an empty studio, eyeing the empty set, she takes a seat in the announcer's place, and we see her daydream as an announcer alongside our hero Hwa Shin (ooooh, someone's got a crush? lemme join too!)
She gets called out for sitting in the announcer's seat by the director Oh Jong -Hwan and she scurries out. In the director's booth, the PD Dong-gi asks the director for his signature for a shoot in Thailand and the director, being the stingy guy that he is, disagrees with the budget allocations and appoints the eager Na-ri as the Hair, Make-up and stylist, and even floor director, cutting the budget in half. In exchange, she asks for an advance. (whew girl!) PD scoffs at the idea of having only the two of them shoot the entire Thailand stint.

She then gets the said advance in an ATM before being called by a coworker. She gets surrounded and called off by her fellow weather reporters on accepting extra work, and insists that she gets her act together and act like an announcer. "We're announcers who report the weather. Burn that to your brain."
She points out in a rather sad way that they're not really announcers. Her coworkers sneers at her, and chides that she does every little thing PD Dong-gi says when he tells her to pad her boobs and pad even her butt. They ask her to maintain even a shred of dignity.
She counters by saying "If we act like announcers, will people treat us like announcers?"
That shut them up real quick girl.
I love the saeguk/ korean historical drama insert here where a gaggle of ducks waddle behind the queen mother and another gaggle of ducks waddle behind the queen and they face off each other like it's about to get down. Here we see the line between the professional looking full time announcers and the unruly bunch of weather reporters. They have a stare down and we go down memory lane in a flashback where Na-ri had been in the auditions, earning a spot as one of the final candidates.
The two best would be made anchors, and the other two can have the choice to either stay as a weather reporter or choose to fail.

We all know what happened here, and we see the announcer Geum Soo Jung ( the girl who kept on eyeing her in the stare down)

and the other announcer get to stay as regulars and Na-Ri along with the other candidate gets the offered weather job. The other candidate disses the offered job, claiming that she didn't go to a specialized school for 2 years for a weather job and rushes out, Na-ri still seemingly shocked, was asked to leave, but as we all know...

Back to the present stare down, the weather reporters bow respectfully to the anchors, and we see Geum Soo Jung whispering to her superior that Na-Ri padded her butt (Oh you little rat )

Aaand we see Na-ri struggling to take off said butt pad in the locker
PPPFFT! show, why you do dis to me?

The camera pans to a school named Hyper Academy, and judging by the different school uniforms the students are wearing, this is a cram school. I mean why hyper? I don't even wanna know.

A student gets shouted off by the guy in the desk for not paying the tuition. And get called a thief for "robbing" the other students by not paying and still going to classes.

The student counters that there were empty seats for him to sit on, and they would have been empty if he weren't there. They can just think that he wasn't there (oh, kid, I wish colleges do that too.)

The said kid starts stripping in front of the lobby, and asking the guy in the desk to search him for the thing he stole (way to prove a point kid, more!)

He strips down to his boxers demanding the lobby desk guy to take back what he stole from him. we hear a "Hey! Pyo Chi Yul!" and we see Na-ri, clutching a beer in hand, "How can you strip in front of these girls?! What if they all fall in love with you?" too late Na-ri the kid with the glasses already took a picture. hahaha

She apologizes to the lobby man and hands in her payment. They walk back home and we see Na-ri sigh that she feels good when she pays his tuition, like a homework done. She apologizes to Chi Yul for handing the payment late, and not having a stable job. She adds that the company looks like they have money but they don't really pay that much.

She kisses him on the cheek and he cutely grumbles that he ain't her kid. She replies: "You're practically my child!" ha!I love their relationship.

Na-ri stops to gaze at the beautiful night sky, and asks how far Bangkok is. Chi Yul answers that its about 6 hours. She says it not that far, and teases him that no wonder he's the top student in school--he knows everything.

She then mentions a "he" who left her 3 years ago , and that she wanted to go to Bangkok to make the guy fall in love with her. She muses taking off her clothes like Chi Yul did and demand "Can you still resist me?" (Oooh, stripping nekked as a birdie it runs in the genes) And she griped that she had been busy and never had the time to fullfill that promise and years later, she still runs late in paying Chi Yul's tuition.

Later that night, Chi Yul finds Nari asleep outside and grumbles that he told her to sleep inside. He sweetly tells the still sleeping Na-ri "Don't take your clothes off before a man, That's what men do." (oh, okay. haha)

Still under the same moon, but over in Bangkok, we see Hwa-shin in his morning work-out and stroll.

He gets a call from a friend asking for coffee and we see Go Jung won (Go Kyung Pyo) in a suit, instructing his secretary to head for the airport, the secretary admonishes that he just back from Italy yesterday after two years. Jung Won replies that he wants coffee ( Okay, mister-I'm-in-korea-but-I-want-coffee-so-let's-go-to-Bangkok-kinda guy. ) And because of the sudden flight, he takes economy.

His secretary reminds him of his business meeting later that afternoon, and he replies "Invite them for coffee."
"In Thailand?" (you can hear the sarcasm from the secretary miles away)
"Yes." ( I scoff with you mr. secretary)

And because It's kdrama, we all know the run in with the MC/main character kinda thingy goes to play, (hello Full House)
Na-ri seems quite excited on a plane and says that it's her first time. Bratty PD Dong-gi who we know bought the tickets, rudely points to Na-ri that her seat is in the economy class. Our ever understanding heroine goes down the isle and sits in her assigned seat (the middle) at first but, gets curious and winds up sitting beside the window. The seat owner, Jung won, seeing her fascination let her.

The plane takes off and Nari touched by the small gesture the stranger did to her, kept staring at the poor guy while sleeping, even comparing him to Bratty PD Dong-gi who just rudely pointed out that it's not her seat. She looks at his figure while he slept, and they share a quiet flight. At the airport, she's left alone by bratty PD with the bags to slip in the bathroom.

She's still stealing glances towards Jung won's back as he exits the airport and bumps a guy reading newspaper,

And whadya know, it's Hwa shin.

He looks visibly irritated at her and he reminds her to not be distracted when working with him. ( I don't know about you guys but, i'm so distracted right now that I'm willing to stop the recap here and just watch his face)
( this is also why I published this halfway through. dear Jo jung suk, I proclaim myself as your girlfriend--bye Gummy.)
